Objectives:
- Increase the understanding of women, children, and people living with HIV/AIDS about their problems, rights, responsibilities, and abilities so that they can take action to improve their situation
- Improve the capacity of women, children, and their families to address needs and execute their rights in a sustainable way.
- Contribute towards influencing policies, structures, and attitudes that oppress women, children, and PLWHAs and to create an enabling environment for them to lead fulfilled lives.
- Build the capacity of children and their families to undertake their education and psycho-social needs.
- Improve the learning/ teaching environment for better performance of children at risk in disadvantaged areas.
Strategic Objectives:
- Increase household incomes for most vulnerable women, children, and PLWHAs.
- Increase access to basic quality education for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and women especially the girl child in Elgon Zone.
- Promote environmental protection, conservation, and food security in Elgon Zone.
- Reduce HIV/AIDS prevalence and its associated impact in the Elgon Zone.
- Holistic transformation and development through the church and community.
- Enhance organizational and staff development so as to build the capacity for implementation of their activities.

UWCM has under community empowerment carried out a number of interventions to bring about change in the lives of people.
